Governor's Water Supply Program Overview
In January 2011, Gov. Nathan Deal directed the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) to develop and launch the Governor’s Water Supply Program. The purpose of the program is to align and mobilize the resources of the state of Georgia to assist local governments with developing new sources of water supply adequate to meet future water demand forecasts.
As directed by the executive order, GEFA convened a Water Supply Program Task Force that will provide expert guidance in the program’s development and implementation. The agencies participating in the Task Force are:

- Georgia Department of Natural Resources
- Georgia Environmental Protection Division
- Georgia Department of Community Affairs
- Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission
- State Properties Commission
- Georgia Department of Agriculture
- Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission
